How do you measure success in cornhole?

Sep 15, 2023

How do you measure success in cornhole? Most people think about how many wins they have, whether or not they are throwing well, how much money they are making, rankings, or what people say.

It is very logical to see these as markers for success… but they are actually not your best measurement tools.

The key to your long-term success with cornhole is mastering automation. When you’re “in the zone” you are in automation. Most people don’t know how to get in the zone, they just accidentally stumble there and feel it.

They’ll refer back to a game and say “I was really in the zone that game” or even day. This is when you will always play your best.

So your most important tool is knowing how to get in that space on purpose. So that when something happens that pulls you out, you can seamlessly fall right back in.

And so you can start your day in that place and attempt to stay there as long as possible.

So instead of focusing on the other markers for success, try focusing on your ability to get into and stay in automation. Use your practice time to get to that place. Use local events to practice getting back in when distractions pull you out.

This is what brings about the most amount of consistency and success in the long run.
